Peter Valentine (B.A., R.B.S.A.) has been painting in oils for fifty years. A winner of a Royal Academy award (the David Murray landscape painting scholarship) and an ex member of the Bridewell Studios, Liverpool along with such alumni as Maurice Cockerill (keeper of paintings at the Royal Academy), Mike Knowles and Aneesh Kapoor.
Peter now paints in his studio and open gallery at Curborough Craft Centre near Lichfield (View map). He regularly exhibits in open exhibitions throughout the U.K. and at the Royal Birmingham Society of Artists gallery where he is a full member.
He considers himself a traditional artist and enjoys a wide range of subject matter including landscapes, portraits, figures and fantasy.
He works on commissions on a regular basis, mainly portraits but sometimes more individual requests.
The gallery is well worth a visit displaying over 200 varied works at any given time, including his recent more surreal, distorted and unusual works. Most of the works are between 40 x 30 cms and 80 x 60 cms and prices range from £150 to £250.
